How to Kill Men and Get Away with It by Katy Brent

Thank you, NetGalley and Harper Collins, for providing this book. Everything in my review is my honest opinion.

Man, How to Kill Men and Get Away with It had a lot of potential. I’ve read a female moral killer and absolutely loved it, so I was really excited to read this. Unfortunately, the clever, misleading woman I was expecting was not Kitty. She was so incredibly unlikable; it was almost laughable.

Kitty was shallow, self-absorbed, two dimensional, and a huge poser. There was next to no development to her character, and she was a complete idiot in what she was doing. Look, I don’t condone vigilante murder, but if you’re going to do it, don’t be stupid enough to go on Tinder and use your own pictures and name. How she managed to kill anyone is astounding. She’s so popular and this huge IG star, but no one ever recognizes her when she’s killing people? There’s no security logs or anything to show who is going in the abattoirs?

Kitty’s relationships didn’t make any sense. She had practically nothing in common with her friends other than their vapid personalities and massive family fortunes. I didn’t feel any real attachment between her and any one of her friends. Her ‘I’m not like the other girls’ to impress Charlie? Gag me….

And don’t even get me started on that business with Adam. She didn’t feel guilty about him at all until suddenly it suited her to do so. Then she overly cares and wants to make everything better because woe is Kitty. The whole last quarter of the book was an absolute mess. If The Creep got one thing right, it’s that everything always had to be about her.

This one could have been great, but it missed the mark.
