Kiss Me Where It Smells Funny by Eric Butler

2/5 stars

I had a lot of expectations for this, and unfortunately, this didn’t come close. I love a good cryptid horror, but I couldn’t really get into this at all.

Alex is that cringey kid who’s got the hots for the TA and decides he’s going to woo her to go out with him. Unfortunately, the school’s resident star athlete and his cronies cheated on a test and they decide the TA has to disappear so it doesn’t get out that they cheated. But let’s not forget the poor sod who died in a toxic waste pit before his wedding wandering around.

The urban legend was a bit confusing. For something that was a huge thing for that community, the legend itself wasn’t very informative and felt like some key details were missing. I’m also a little confused how the title relates to the story. I was expecting something far different because of the title.

I didn’t really care for these characters…at all. It’s very unfortunate what happened to a couple of them, but that’s about the extent of my feelings on the matter. The characters were far too flat for me to care much about what was going to happen.
