Spine Chilling started out really well! Lucy and Esme’s father has recently passed, and they are cleaning out his house when they make a horrifying discovery. Fast forward a few months, and Esme’s boyfriend, Davis, secretly buys a book from her father’s collection. Turns out her father isn’t as gone as everyone believes…

Things kind of take a turn here. The book is clearly going in a certain direction, a direction that makes perfect sense, but then it suddenly takes a right turn completely away from that. The storyline didn’t make much sense from there, and it really took me out of the story.

This really wasn’t a bad story overall. A bit quick for my taste, but it was a fun read. That surprise reveal, though, just completely dropped this for me.
