Love Sick is such a great anthology! I love the different kinds of love and relationships that are featured in these stories, and the overall tone of acceptance was really nice to read.
It’s hard for me to pick a favourite as there were a lot of stories that I really enjoyed. However, I do want to talk about Slapshot by DJ Krimmer and On the Power Play by Eden Knox. I’m a huge fan of hockey romance tropes, so these ones were so good for me! **sucks in breath** DJ HOW DARE YOU RIP MY HEART OUT LIKE THAT AND LEAVE ME HANGING. I definitely need more of both of these stories; I’ll just be slowly going insane in the meantime.
Finding the DJ by Kat Fallons was hot, no if/ands/buts about it! The heat between Xavier, Sebastian, and Luna was ridiculous, and I loved the teasing note at the end. I loved Luna so much as a character, and the way she handled her two men was brilliant! I think she’s got some payback coming when they catch up to her, though 👀
Sinfully Theirs about melted my phone, MY GOD 🔥 the dynamic between Jax, Cruz, and Raven! I need more of this in my life! The I-hate-that-I-love-you attitude makes for fantastic spicy scenes, and I was not disappointed here. Thank you, Nicole, for making my day!
I would be remiss if I didn’t also mention Molly Doyle’s Scream for Love. While I am a big fan of her work and the series this short integrates with, she touched me deeply with this story. There’s something in that story that meant more to me than I can ever say, and it made me so emotional when I read it. Yes, this story is hot and fun, but it’s also thoughtful in a way that I was wholly unprepared for.
There were a few stories here that I thought didn’t jive as well, though that might have been more of a lack of knowledge of the stories the characters came from, but it’s a great anthology regardless. And if you need another reason to invest in this gem, it’s for charity!
