My skin hasn’t stopped crawling since I started reading LaundryLegs! Anything with more than 4 legs freaks me out, and the more legs they have, the creepier they get.
LaundryLegs being a massive startlingly sentient centipede is enough to give me major heebie jeebies. I swear I’m going to be listening at walls and jumping at any hissing sounds I hear in my house. To my detriment, Rob did an excellent job of describing the movement of a bug’s antenna (the twiddling 😭) and I had to stop a couple times for a few seconds because of the skin shivers I was getting.
I’m so intrigued by Mr. Ross and what was actually happening in that house. I haven’t quite decided if I think there’s some sort of curse on the house and no actual LaundryLegs or if LaundryLegs is this absolutely massive killer centipede with a small horde of minions at his beck and call. Truth be told, I don’t know which option is more horrifying.
There were a few minor inconsistencies that dropped this down a little for me. One of the characters was named Bruce, but then later on, he was Burt. There were a few phrases that seemed to be repeating themselves relatively frequently. Martha being his dead wife and the lady who lives across the seat (though maybe this one was done on purpose).
I’m really hoping that Rob will write more in this universe (and maybe put Brenda in her place a bit more next go round). I’m really interested in following through this as a series and seeing this play out one way or another. And if I spend the next couple days studiously checking my house for any creepy crawlies….mind your business!
