Two Weeks Notice – Whitney G.

2.5 stars

The chemistry between Tara and Preston was off the charts, but it felt very “flash in the pan.” They spent more time arguing and hating each other, though if it was actual hate is questionable, than actually being together. And they never said the big three words!

I was pretty interested in them as a couple until the fine print incident. There are several different charges that could be brought against that, never mind that the contract could be completely thrown out in Court due to the lack of a meeting of the minds and full understanding of contract terms between the two signatory parties. I know this is fiction, but that was hard to get past for me and felt extremely squicky. Preston is written as this super savvy, ruthlessly successful mogul, and I don’t see him risking his reputation or company on who was essentially a felony thief when they first met. I’m still not overly sure why he offered her the job anyway, truth be told, but I don’t feel like I have a good grasp of him or his background.

The passage of time didn’t really do this story any favours. There were a lot of time skips, significant time skips, that could’ve been used to build their relationship more. They had great bedroom chemistry, but I wanted to see them develop more together as a couple and share moments with each other. They never really got a chance to learn about each other and their histories.

I loved the spicy scenes, but the rest of it could’ve been done better. I’d still give this author another chance, though.
