Lee Jacquot is a woman after my own heart! She’s a fellow Ravenclaw and enjoys drowning herself in a good book, losing track of time on the Nintendo Switch with her kids, and lives off of Dean Winchester. Who doesn’t love Dean and want to do all kinds of fun things to, (*ahem* with) him? Her husband likes to leave fake spiders and roaches around the house as practical jokes (you’d be bailing me out of jail if my hypothetical partner ever did that….you’d be finding pieces of them for weeks :D).
Lee writes one of my favourite spicy romance series, A Holinight Novella series, and I’m so happy I had the opportunity to talk to her today, release day for O’Hare’s Ranch.
Q: Who has been your biggest supporter(s) throughout your writing career?
A: My husband. When I’m in my head, he always talks me down.
Q: Where do you draw inspiration from in your work?
A: Honestly, I’m not sure. I get this random idea, I start jotting things down, and it comes to me. Sometimes I get stuck and my alphas let me ramble until I work the rest out.
Q: What does it mean to you to be an author?
A: I kinda look at this question in two ways. One as what it means to be an author, which my response would be getting the ideas in your head out on paper. Or two, what does it mean to me to be an author, lol(same question, different meaning), and it feels amazing. Like this lifelong dream (since I was 5) has come to fruition.
Q: What is your writing process like? Do you listen to certain music, snack, make loads of phone notes when inspiration randomly strikes, etc.?
A: It’s a lot of just fitting time in when I can. I’m a mother of 3, and full-time teacher, so each time I open my computer, it looks different. For the most part, I’m in the best, while my husband plays the game late at night, and I’m just typing away. When inspo hits, I text my ideas to my husband lol.

Q: What has been the hardest part of your career as an author so far?
A: Not playing the comparing game, and marketing! It’s the worst.
Q: What do you consider to be your greatest strength and weakness as an author?
A: My greatest weakness is procrastination, and greatest strength is …oh my gosh, I don’t know.
Q: Who is on your radar as someone you’d love to work with?
A: I’m open to work with lots of people!
Q: At some point in our lives, we’ve all heard the negative comments: “You’re not good enough.” “You’ll never make it.” “This is the worst thing I’ve ever seen.” “You don’t belong.” How do you move forward when faced with negativity?
A: Unless I inadvertently offend someone, other’s opinions of me are none of my business. I’m not for everyone, and that’s okay!
Q: What advice would you give to women who are wanting to write, especially if it’s something others might perceive as “outside of the norm”?
A: I heard a quote on social media. It said what’s the best advice you’ve ever received, to which they said, “what if it turned out greater than you ever imagined?” And the worst? “Be realistic.” You either do it or don’t. There is no in between.
Lee’s novella, O’Hare’s Ranch, dropped today! It’s the tenth book in the Holinight series, and the second to last. It’s Lee’s first cowboy romance and features city girl/country boy, slow burn, a cute Easter egg hunt, and lots and lots of rope 🙂
I’m actually really sad to see this series so close to the end. The Holinight series was my first read by Lee. I’m only about halfway through them since I’ve been slowing down because I don’t want to get to the end! Every book has taught me something different about myself, and it’s been a great journey through the kinks LOL. That being said, I am excited to see what other great stories that Lee will write, and I’ll keep following her through whatever the next chapter holds!
Lee’s website can be found here, and you can follow her on Facebook and Instagram where you can mourn the end of the Holinight series with me! To take your mind off the sadness, take a read through Bride by Ali Hazelwood; Lee says it’s a ton of fun!
