Cirque Obscurum – K.A. Knight and Kendra Moreno

4.5 stars

I’m going to need all dark romance to sit down and learn because this, THIS, is it. It gave me everything I needed in a dark romance book and I finally have an MFC that I could fall in love with. She was broken and had loads of trauma but she grew into a kickass, unhinged, independent woman who didn’t need her men to fight her battles. Ember will now and forever be one of my absolute favourite female leads. And her wildly chaotic, deliciously dark men? My bi heart is extremely happy.

“He might not have a working leg, but he has the audacity of a man, that’s for sure.” The. Best. One. Liner. EVER. I can’t even describe the way I needed this in my life. What a perfect way to sum up that section of the book, and many events in general.

My one gripe is that I don’t think I learned as much about Heart. I know the names and backstories of Club, Spade, and Diamond, but I can’t remember learning about Heart’s. Maybe I missed it in all my excited fangirling, but I’m really curious to know his name and how he got to Cirque.

Katie and Kendra, I bow to you as the Mistresses of the Dark Romance. This was everything I wanted and needed, and I really hope to revisit these characters and this world again sometime!

Thank you to Courtney for letting me read this early!
