Sewer Rat – Meera Masen as Iona Penn

Sewer Rat has me a little off-kilter. I was really confused until I figured out what was actually going on about a third of the way through. It made a lot more sense after that!

I love an unreliable narrator, but I did think this one was a little more obvious than I’d like. And the way that Ben was talking seemed a touch more adult-like than I would expect for a 15 year old (though I don’t spend a lot of time around teenagers so I could be entirely off base here).

This book is a short, packed read. While some of the scenes could be repetitive, it was still an interesting one. I’d read more by this author and see how her other work stacks up!
