Stevie by DJ Krimmer

3 stars

Stevie wasn’t my favourite. As much as I loved Fox, I was expecting a lot from this one, and I struggled a lot with reading it.

I didn’t like the relationship between Stevie and Brooks as much. It felt stinted and didn’t grow very smoothly. They were hot one moment, then it was like a switch flipped, and they were ice cold and awkward. I didn’t like how Stevie treated Brooks at times and the way she led him on, knowing how he felt for her.

Maybe it’s because I haven’t read the series in order, but I didn’t feel as attached to these two as I did to Janie and the guys at Hel’s. Not much of this book seemed to have much to do with Hel’s at all; this almost felt like something moatly separate from that universe.

As someone with PCOS (and possibly endometriosis), I was glad to see the representation here. It is very hard to get anyone to believe you when you say there’s a problem, it’s taken me several doctors to even help me instead of offering stupid solutions like taking ibuprofen, and I really empathized with Stevie when she mentioned the doctors telling her she’s too young or will regret not having kids as those are all things I’ve also heard.

This book was alright, but I didn’t enjoy it as much as I thought I would.
