Snowed Inn (With a Demon) – L.E. Eldridge

3 stars

This one landed very middle of the pack for me. I didn’t feel any major connection with any of the characters, the spice was low level at best, and the story was just kind of there.

Tana is the general manager of supposedly haunted Camden Inn. Amon is a fear demon trapped in the inn who tries to scare people there when he gets bored. Tana ignores all his tricks, so Amon starts thinking of nothing more than scaring her, then later actually getting together.

I wish the author would’ve leaned more into the haunted inn thing. It wasn’t really haunted other than Amon’s tricks, but it would’ve been really fun to have this whole paranormal sect hanging out at the end playing pranks on the guests and staff. The little bit we saw of Amon was really funny and left me wanting more of that energy.

I didn’t really feel much passion or chemistry between Amon and Tana. They felt like they were kind of in the peripheral of each other, and the spicy scenes were short-lived and felt mostly off camera. Then suddenly, they were fated mates, or so says Tana’s super convenient but extremely random witch friend, and Tana is agreeing to tie her lifespan to his forever. It just seemed like a lot for two people who didn’t really know each other, had barely met, and didn’t have a whole lot of spark.

Snowed Inn was alright. I don’t have any strong feelings for it one way or another, despite it having some of my favourite romance book kinks.
