This was so freaking adorable wth

I need more dynamics like this. Usually, it’s the guy that’s over-the-top, sensual, and blows the woman away. It made me so happy to see Charlie being the one to keep Nick wrongfooted and falling over himself. Until he caught on at any rate. And when he used her arsenal to play with her; we love a man who isn’t afraid to explore!

I loved their banter and the teasing nature of their relationship. She gave him so much grief over the years, and he took it fairly good-naturedly until he started giving back. Every time they teased Chance made me practically cackle, too. Honestly, this kind of ridiculous fun relationship is the type of relationship I’d love to have.

The hot tub scene was probably my favourite in the book, though! Thinking about what they all must have looked like when Charlie’s and Nick’s moms came across them had me dying, and Charlie’s response to it all had me wheezing. It was so absolutely perfect for them!

However, I do wish this was longer. I wanted to see what happened after they left the lodge. I was waiting for their third act breakup, but it never came. The end was a little abrupt since it skipped from them still at the lodge to a year later. Seeing their relationship develop more outside of the forced proximity would’ve made this the perfect ending.

I’m still very happy with this story, though! It was a great Smutmas read this year!
