Christmas Package – Cassie Cole

3 stars

I don’t know what it was, but I had a really hard time getting into this book. It felt like it took a REALLY long time to get where it needed to go, and I found myself checking how many pages I had left far more frequently than I usually do with a Cassie Cole book.

I loved Gabe, Victor, and Thomas, but I struggled a lot with Brianna as an FMC. She seemed to needlessly create drama at times with Thomas and came across as really entitled. Demanding information from Thomas about whatever he was hiding felt in extremely poor taste when she wasn’t telling him everything either and had outright lied to him. Everyone was also ridiculously unwilling to have a conversation; nearly every piece of drama could have been avoided with a simple conversation.

The romance also seemed to come out of nowhere a bit. Brianna was in a long-term committed relationship and got over it very quickly, other than severely distrusting the intentions of her love interests. Her almost blasé attitude about her love interests was also kind of weird; she’d be interested in all three then have an issue with one and just 🤷‍♀️ ‘well I guess it’s just me and these two now’ and so on. It didn’t feel like a cohesive RH to me.

All in all, Christmas Package wasn’t a horrible book by any means. It just wasn’t what I was expecting and very slow moving.
