Elements of Choking – Sofia Graves

Sofia crafts a beautiful story of surrender and intimacy in Elements of Choking. It’s singularly the most poetic story I’ve ever read, and one whose prose will live in the spaces between my breath for a long time to come.

There’s something very charming (pun not intended lol) about Ezren and the way he draws his power. He’s so intense in all the best ways, and the way he coaxes the magic and the need out of Nerina is something to behold.

Their relationship didn’t quite get there for me, maybe because the characters didn’t develop much outside of their deepening connection. I really want to know more about the two of them and the world they live in, how they came to be where they are, everything.

Elements of Choking is going to linger in my heart, and I can’t find it in myself to be upset about it.
