Rope Break was far more intense than I was expecting, but the subjects were handled with so much grace by the author. There are a few very sensitive subjects in this novella, but Jessica handled them with all the care they deserved.
Years after tragedy split them apart, it’s almost fate that Gideon would meet Austin again in the small town he’s overseeing as the local priest. Gideon blamed himself for the tragic death of Austin’s older brother, Luke, and has been running all this time, but now that his past has found him again, the time for running is over.
I absolutely LOVED Gideon and Austin! They’re both beautifully written, dynamic characters, and when they get together? 🔥🔥🔥 five alarm fire! They’re positively sinful, and I couldn’t get enough of them!
My only real gripe here is that I want to see so much more of their story and their life together. I’ll definitely be checking out more of Jessica’s work, though!
