Cold Snap – Lindy Ryan

I’m not overly sure what I just read. I think maybe I was in a fever dream and woke up as I closed the book.

Cold Snap does have a really tense atmosphere and hits all the right heartstrings, but I’m just not sure I completely understand the nuances of whatever was going on. There was a moose but it wasn’t a moose? Did anything that Christine saw actually happen or was it something she hallucinated in her grief?

None of these characters really stood out to me as people I could connect to. They felt distant in a way that I’m not used to, and I had a hard time caring about them or what might happen to them.

This was a very quick read, and the atmosphere did have me reading a little faster to see what would happen, but the plot has me completely confused. Cold Snap wasn’t for me, but it was definitely appropriate for the season.
