For a story with Krampus in the tagline, Lucky Girl had surprisingly little to do with Krampus. He wasn’t really a threat throughout the story; the threat was very much more human in nature.
The story itself felt kind of unfinished. I never really got to learn much about the characters’ backstory beyond they met in a failing diner while in college and that Ro has a huge tragedy in her past. But what about Grayson and the mysterious Jovy? And Adrienne and Lena?
Certain parts of the plot seemed like they were there for convenience rather than sense. There were a couple reveals and motives toward the end that just didn’t make as much sense to me as other ways the author could have brought that particular point home.
All in all, Lucky Girl was kinda eh for me.
