I tend to struggle a little when an anthology is so specific in its theme, but despite that, Kevin put together a great group of stories in Hags and Witches! Let’s talk some favourites:
The Salt Mother by Ryan Colley. This story was OUTSTANDING!! It’s a slow burn done right! The way that the main character slowly disintegrated and had to deal with the consequences of his actions was so cleverly written. I couldn’t get enough of it!
Bon Appétit by Viggy Parr Hampton. An excellent story of feminine rage! I gave the most unladylike snort ever once the twist was revealed and felt more satisfaction than probably necessary 😂 but….you get what you get, buddy.
Shadows Over Patmos by M.P. Norman. I’m so intrigued by what’s happening here and the world that was built. I really wanted a full-length out of this story because I’m so interested in these characters and how the story would play out on a wider scale! I got extremely connected to Captain Rowan and would seriously love more of this!
Everything Has its Price by James Yates. Go Nana! Everyone needs a woman like Nana Agnes in their life. I loved her and her no-nonsense, take no prisoners attitude.
