Fearless Heart by Brighton Walsh

4/5 stars

Fearless Heart had me very up in my feels. I can’t even say how much I loved and appreciated Quinn as the first truly relatable character I’ve found. Having PCOS myself, it was really something special for someone to talk about it and represent the struggles of managing it and dealing with it day to day. Her struggles with inner negativity also hit me hard, and I really want to thank Brighton for writing such a beautifully real female character.

The tension between Quinn and Ford was practically combustible. Sparks may as well have been flying from my phone while I was reading this! I loved them together and how they worked through their issues. Both of them brought their own baggage to the relationship, and it was so refreshing to read them working through things, even if it took some running away first, like actual reasonable human beings. AND LET’S NOT FORGET THE SPICE!! My God, those two could really come together….

The one thing that I do wish was talked about more was the clinic. It kind of fell to the wayside and got ignored in favour of their relationship. I would have liked to see more on how everything got wrapped up and Quinn’s work there after the situation with Dicknose. The clinic was really important to Quinn’s character, and I wish that it would’ve been just as important in the end as it was in the beginning.

Really great read, though! One of the better romances I’ve read, for sure. Ford was an extremely satisfying character in several ways, and Quinn was so relatable and grounded. Many thanks to The Smuthood for providing me with this ARC!
