Jigglyspot and the Zero Intellect was an absolute fever dream in the best way possible. It was chaos and carnage from start to finish, and once I suspended my disbelief, it was a really fun read.
Now, that being said, it was way too long. To its credit, I was sucked into the storyline and wanted to keep reading to see what would happen, but I think the book could’ve been a good 150 pages shorter and been fine.
I thought it was hard to keep track of how much time was passing also. With each chapter having different timestamps and some of them being before the last chapter, I don’t have a good grasp on the timeline of this book. I have no idea how much time passed between the last two parts, so the last 20 or so pages didn’t have as big of an impact as it could have for me.
I was also confused by a lot of what was going on. I almost felt like I should’ve read something before I read Jigglyspot because I was missing some context. I wish that some things were explained a little more since I spent most of the book metaphorically scratching my head.
I will give the author a lot of credit, though. I really didn’t like Jiggly the first half of the book, but he really grew on me in the second half. I couldn’t help but feel for him after everything that happened, and I hope he and Kera find each other again sometime in the future. I really liked Kera even though she wasn’t in the book much! I’d love to see more of her in some way.
Despite the issues that I had with this, I’m invested enough in this universe to want to read more and see where all the major players end up!
