Try Not to Die on Slashtag – Jon Cohn and Mark Tullius

Easy 5 stars!

This was my first TNTD book, and I’m rather upset at myself that I haven’t read any of the others yet. I love a choose your own adventure type of story, and TNTD on Slashtag was so much fun! Don’t worry if you’ve not read Slashtag yet, you can get by fairly well without it (though it definitely enhances the experience if you’ve read it before you read this).

I love watching horror movies and slashers, and I’ve always thought to myself that if I was ever in this scenario, I’d die rather quickly. After reading this, I can confidently say that every thought I’ve ever had is completely correct; I’m not cut out for being in horror movies 🤦‍♀️ I died once before I even made it to the hotel.

It took me 9 runs to actually survive, and I had 8 rather interesting and vastly unfortunate deaths to sigh over getting there. I won’t mention how many good-natured curse words were part of this (if you’re thinking any more than like 2, you should know that I’m an angel and would never curse my own stupidity when trying to survive a supernatural murder machine).

To Jon and Mark, thank you for confirming that I’ve always known about myself and for really bringing the point home in increasingly creative demises! This was the most fun I’ve ever had dying!
