Why Cheese? – Ellen Mint

5/5 stars

I CAN’T BELIEVE IT’S OVER; I WANT TO CRY!

I so wish that I could read this over again for the first time. As soon as I finished the book, I wanted nothing more than to read it again and again. I’m so extremely soft for cheese men and a broken but absolutely beautiful heroine…it’s unreal.

I’ve been the biggest fan of Ellen for so long. She has a way of completely sucking you into a story, and before you know it, you’ve totally devoured the book. Her characters are bright and bold and real in a way that you fall in love with them and take them into your heart without a choice. They’re so relatable, no matter how crazy you might think they are, and you can find small things to empathize with in each of her characters that make them feel that much more engaging.

Vi’s character growth was beautiful to read and is probably the best example of believable dynamic character growth I’ve ever read. She struggles with a mental illness that her incredibly toxic mom makes worse, and it broke my heart to see how horrible her mom was to her. Reading as she finally gained the strength and courage to stand up and be her own warrior gave me chills. It was such an amazing moment, and I was so proud of her for what she did!

And the men! All four of them were each unique and brought different things to the relationship. I loved all four of them so much. It took me a little bit to warm up to Roq, but once he opened up, I was smitten. They were so good for Vi and THE SPICE! While the fun scenes aren’t extremely graphic, they hit all the right notes and really ramp up the relationship the five of them have.

I’ve been a fan of Ellen’s for quite some time, and I’ll admit, cheese shifters kind of threw me off at first. But I’m always game for something new, and I’ll never regret giving an Ellen Mint story a read! This one blew me away, no doubt about it.

Cheese the day and give this one a read, I promise you won’t regret making a brieline for this one…it’s as gouda as gold!
