Seven Tattoo Artists and a Single Mom by Nicole Casey

4/5 stars

First of all, I love a good redemption arc! These seven tattoo artists all have a dark past but are determined to change their lives around and do better for the future. Lead by Marlo, the boys quickly fall for Madison the first time she enters their shops, and those feelings only deepen as they get to know her and her daughter. Trouble is afoot, though, and someone is waiting in the wings to take everything they hold dear.

This story was so wholesome. I loved that all of them were given second chances and were turning their lives around after being in prison. I am extremely curious about their pasts, though. Were they felons or just in on misdemeanors? Were they in at the same time at the same facility, and that’s how Marlo met them? If not, how did Marlo meet all of the others and bring them into his shop? I’d have loved to explore their collective pasts a little more to round their characters out more.

Reading about Madison’s first tattoo was really fun because it brought back memories of my first and everything that I was feeling when I had mine done! I thought at the part about tattoo fever; it’s absolutely true! Once you get one, you have to keep going! Madison was a really fun character overall, and seeing her stand against Michael was very satisfying. I love that Nicole gave her a spine instead of having her wilt behind her very capable guys.

This was a great continuance of the series, and I’m looking forward to the next! Thank you, BookSprout, for the early look at this one!
