Thorns by Ellen Mint

4/5 stars

I loved Thorns, but it frustrated me in equal parts. While I absolutely adore Raul and was happy to get a closer look at his character, there are things that I’ve been waiting to happen for several books that feel like they keep getting pushed off. Everybody keeps mentioning how dire it is to get Daniel’s situation sorted, but it’s still not quite resolved, and I’m losing the urgency that I’ve felt for it since he was first introduced.

Raul is probably my favourite character in the series once he gets his head out of his ass. He’s so sensual and sly, and I really like the dynamic he has with Layla. However, I do feel like I’m getting cock blocked here because I’m still waiting for them to actually get together. I’m going to scream if they aren’t together by the end of all this.

My heart melted at this ending, especially with Ink. I’ve been waiting for so long for him to sort out his feelings, and the confession was so sweet it almost made me cry. The scene with all of them together at last has been a long time coming!

This series has been such a delight to read! I’ve been captivated by Layla and her men from the first book, and this has quickly become one of my favourite series out there. All the characters are so quirky and fun to read, and I’m really having a great time getting to know all of them and their stories.

I want to give a big thank you to Ellen for allowing me on her Street Team and letting me take a journey through this series. It’s been an amazing adventure, and I’m extremely sad to see it ending soon. Now I’ll eagerly await the next one to see how we all come together in the end!
