It’s been a long time since I’ve read a romance with no third act breakup! My One & Goalie was super sweet and heartwarming, and I loved every second of it.
What I liked the most about this book was that Xander didn’t give up his career and change his whole life just to be with Rachel. While those storylines can be nice, I really liked that they found a way to make it work between them without him having to give up everything. That was also a nice change; one I was very pleased with.
Poor Rachel having to deal with a really crappy ex. I’m glad that she finally went to the police and got everything dealt with through her attorney. I was practically screaming at her after the first incident to go to the police or call her attorney, at the least. No use dealing with his horrible abusive behaviour when you’ve got perfectly legal grounds to modify your custody agreement.
I really enjoyed this read, and can’t wait to see more of Starlight Bay!
