Lorgar’s book was an extremely hard one to get through. MAJOR warning for child abuse/mistreatment in a religious context. I felt so much pain and sympathy for Lorgar this whole book, and honestly? Seeing how he grew up and the conditions of his “childhood”, I can’t really blame him for turning from the Emperor after Monarchia
Gav has a way of writing that hits right at the heartstrings. And a way of writing that really makes you hate characters…..looking at you, Kor Phaeron **squint**. I was really hoping he’d get his just desserts but no such luck, unfortunately. Instead, it was poor Nairo who caught the consequences of genuinely caring for Lorgar.
This book, outside of the tragedy of Lorgar’s upbringing, was an extremely easy read. I flew through it and found myself really wanting to know more about him and his Legion. At this point, he’s the primarch that I feel the most empathy for and, while I’m looking forward to learning more about him, I’m not ready for the horrifyingly sad events that are coming.
