Now this was a fantastic collection! Each story really fit the theme and gave me a lot of horrifying examples of what evil can mean
The first story I have to mention is “A Definition” by Stephen Barnard. It’s so creatively written and had me staring at my phone as the definition unfolded. Guess you really do have to be careful what you say….you never know what it might inspire in others
Next is “The Amulet” by Ryan Colley. I’m always excited to see Ryan’s name in a KJK collection because I’m never disappointed by what I read. The realisation of what exactly the amulet is chilled me to the bone. What’s even more chilling is that situations like that happen every day and most aren’t even aware they do
Next is “Cures for a Sickened World” by Brian Hodge. Good thing I have nothing but nice things to say here or maybe I would need to be worried I’d wake up in an out-of-the-way building with my words quickly coming back to haunt me 🤔 this one is a other stunning example of why you should think about the effect your words have on others
Honourable mentions go to “The Cleaner” by Mark Towse for being insanely unique and making me extraordinarily sad and “Trespassers” by Brian Moreland for the reminder that being a jerk will get you nowhere but the dark bottom of an abandoned elevator shaft.
Kevin did a great job with this collection! It really blew me away how well the stories worked together
