Ok, but I think Roboute and Jaghatai might have some competition for favourite primarchs. And my opinion of the Emperor continues to plummet with each book

My favourite thing about this book is finally getting to know why a Legion has its name. And what a way to be named! I absolutely loved the way that the book ended; it gave me chills reading Vulkan’s declaration at his sons’ survival.

I really like the way Vulkan is with his sons too. They’re open and honest with each other and trust each other implicitly. It was nice to see a Legion so entertwined with their primarch and so focused on saving humanity rather than just extinguishing xenos.

The format of this book was really reminiscent of Roboute’s book, which was another plus for me. I liked the three overarching topics under the header of each chapter. It’s a great way to provide a little hint about what’s to come and make me interested in the chapters right from the start.

Reading Jaghatai and Vulkan back to back has made me excited for this series again in a way I was lacking, and I can’t wait to keep diving in and learning about the rest of the primarchs.
