I didn’t really like the writing style at the get go, but boy did this book pick up! I was so impatient to get to the end just to see what everything was building up to.
I really liked Guilliman and the way he ran his legion. He was a bit exhausting to read at the start, but he really grew on me during the story. It was interesting to see how he approached battle, and mildly disdained Fulgrim and his battle strategy 😂
Reading about the orks was pretty cool too! I haven’t encountered them much at all yet in my readings so seeing how brutal and singular-purposed they are was eye opening. It gave me an idea of what larger combat looks like and how wild it can be when full engagement happens.
The mentions of other Primarchs and the relationships that Guilliman has with them were really interesting to see also. Makes me feel pretty bad for Lorgar though……
